Some versions of LA Noire (particularly the base version) do not include all audio languages. You might get English audio with your target language for subtitles and menus.
The lack of a dedicated in-game toggle for subtitles and menu text is a common point of frustration for players. While can be toggled in the Options menu under the Pause screen, changing the primary text or audio language requires these "hidden" external steps.
Select your preferred language (e.g., French, German, Spanish).
Right-click L.A. Noire in Steam -> Properties -> Installed Files -> Verify Integrity. This fixes missing localization files.
