The wizarding world continues to expand. The Fantastic Beasts prequel trilogy, while not achieving the same box office heights, explores the wizarding world in the 1920s and 1930s. Additionally, HBO is developing a television series adaptation of the books, which will feature a brand new cast. As of 2025, the roles of the golden trio have been cast: Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The series is scheduled to begin filming soon, with a target release date set for 2027.

The longest book becomes the shortest movie. Directed by David Yates (who would helm the rest of the series), this film focuses on a grief-stricken Harry trying to convince the wizarding world that Voldemort is back.
