Why is this "drive" so special? The weight distribution. By removing the heavy steel body of the Brasilia and replacing it with a fiberglass shell, the achieved a near 40/60 front/rear weight split. In the sand dunes of Northeastern Brazil, this light rear-end allowed drivers to "float" over soft terrain where heavier 4x4s would sink.
