"Everything that you can imagine to go wrong, went wrong with the series," Tewary confessed in an exclusive interview. "Before 2009-2013, everything went wrong, because we were constantly running against the time. There was a time the broadcasters refused to air the series because of lots of issues that were arising". For the production team, the most difficult aspect was to transport people to the Mahabharat era. The show was stuck in development hell for several years, but Tewary kept his vision alive: "A lot of people told me you should not be making it, you are a very young company... But somehow, when we started making the show, it all fell into place".
