In Mordhau , players unlock new gear and cosmetic weapon and armor skins in exchange for Gold. Progression in the form of XP does exist, which is in place essentially as a block to stop you from acquiring all the best gear and cosmetics too quickly. However, in the case of weapons and armor, that barrier is very low; you'll reach the level to unlock everything fairly quickly.
Remember: The true "unlock" is mastering the art of the fight, from landing perfect chambers to timing your feints!
