Dionisi taught harmony at the conservatories of Bolzano and Florence, and from 1952 for many years at the Milan Conservatory, where his students included notable Italian musicians—most famously the singer-songwriter Franco Battiato. He also taught at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Milan. His pedagogical rigor shaped generations of composers and teachers, and his works remain standard in Italian composition classes.
