The chemistry between Ryner and Ferris is established instantly. Ferris isn't a "damsel" or a secondary love interest; she is a powerhouse dango-obsessed swordswoman who provides the perfect comedic and physical foil to Ryner.

While it’s true that the animation quality could dip in later episodes due to budget constraints, the premiere itself is consistently solid. The visuals are clean and detailed, with a notable effort put into the design of magical effects and the backgrounds of the medieval fantasy world. The fight scenes are well-choreographed, and the character designs, while perhaps reminiscent of other series, are appealing and help to instantly define each lead.
